Creating A Rustic Decor Look
In The Bedroom

by Scarlett

The

The "Rustic Look" is a classic style......and easy to achieve!

If you love the rustic look, then why not add it to your bedroom? There are many ways that you can create a rustic look that will relax you and calm you after a long hard day at work.

Rustic decor is easy to find, you just have to be creative and consider all your possibilities. Rustic is simple and it is everything you can imagine when you close your eyes and picture inside a log cabin.

If you can’t really get a vision the consider searching online to find several different log cabin decors to see how simple it is.

Starting with the floor, you can create a rustic look no matter if you have boards down or you have the most expensive wall-to-wall carpet.

Using area rugs to complete your look is not only practical but affordable as well. Use reversible braided rugs to create a rustic look. If you have a fireplace, consider sheepskin rugs that you can lie down to enhance the rustic look of your fireplace.

The furniture for you bedroom can be made from pine and you can hand paint it or stain it by hand. Create a rustic look by painting or designing deer, birds, or even flowers on the headboard and along side the rails.

For your dresser, you can add a stain or paint to it in order to create a rustic look. If you leave it plain, don’t forget to place a very light stain on it to protect the wood and to blend in with the rest of your decor.

For a makeup table, consider finding a small square pine kitchen table and covering the top with a lace table cover. Place a vintage mirror on the wall and push your table up against it in order to use the mirror with your makeup table.

Finish the look by placing flowers, pine cones in baskets, a couple logs of wood for the fireplace, and don’t forget to set some needlework down on the table beside of the chair. Hurricane lamps or tin lanterns are also popular in the rustic look.

Don’t be afraid to use wrought iron fixtures to finish your rustic look. Black decor goes great in a rustic room and also in the bedroom.

For the wall, use only a neutral color so it can look as natural as possible. This can be cream or beige colors for the walls. Don’t be afraid to add colors such as blue, green, or red to the decor in order to create a balanced look.

Remember that the more colors you use the more you have to balance and this can be difficult to do. You may end up creating more of a distraction then a balance in your home.

The window should have lace curtains to help dress it up. Plain white lace curtains or lace curtains that are pulled back are just some of the many ways to create a rustic look in your bedroom.
