No matter where your office is located, you need to make sure that it is designed the right way to maximize your business and reduce your stress!.

That is true, the way your office is arranged can indeed cause stress to you. When things are not organized and within reach or if your office feels too small and cluttered you will find that the office space becomes more of an entrapment then a place to be productive.

You can change that by how you organize the room.

Your Desk:

Your desk is the main piece of furniture in your office. You think, become creative, and make money when you are at your desk. You can also become bored, tired, and stress to the max when you are at your desk. There are ways to arrange your desk so it will be the most productive for you.

Your desk should be at an angle toward the window if possible. This allows you to look out the window whenever you want to but it doesn’t have the direct light shinning in your eyes.

If you are in a cubicle, you can’t turn your desk around however, you can add more lighting to your cubicle and this will make your space look and feel bigger and brighter.

Your desk needs to be organized. If your desk is not organized, you will not be organized. If you work at home, a table in the dining room will not make a good desk. You need to make sure that your desk is set up everyday and you don’t need to do anything different when you are ready to begin working.

Again, if your desk is at your kitchen table, you may spend a half hour taking everything off the dining room table and putting all your things you will need to work with on your desk.

This is time that you can spend doing other things. It also takes away any chances of feeling productive and you immediately become stressed.

Have everything within reach when you are sitting at your desk. You need to make sure that you are not stressing out trying to find a pen, calculator, paperclips, or other office equipment.

Area Rugs:

You want to provide a certain degree of comfort in your home office. To do that you need to place area rugs in your room.

You would be amazed at how comfortable you will feel when you seearea rugs on the floor. Place one at your feet and if you feel stressed, take your shoes off and feel the area rug at your feet. It’s soft, cool, and comfortable.

It changes the mood you are in almost immediately. Soft cotton rugs would be perfect on your feet and would look professional too.

Walls:

The walls will look bare if you don’t put something up. You can place family pictures, artwork that you like to look at, or even special items that can sit on a shelf at your desk. This is a great way to make your office feel more comfortable.

You will need file cabinets, copier, and printer. If you have a choice, place these items close to your desk but where you still need to get up to reach them. This will give you an opportunity to stretch your legs and clear your mind.
