When it comes to decorate childs bedroom, the process itself should rely on your own childish creativity. Think about it. When you were a child, wouldn’t you have dreamt of having a fun-filled space to read, play games, play fight, display medals and prize possessions or to just simply day-dream? Think of a theme which best reflects your child’s personality, and run with it.

Stuffed Animals

Kid’s generally love brighter colors and themes that fit their interests. For boys, sports, army and superhero themes are well placed on the popularity ranks. Girls love the fun and the frilly.

The pastel colors, princess themes and character inclusions like Tinkerbell fairy and Cinderella are safe bets to decorate childs bedroom. Of course, you could include your child in the process (if the redecorating isn’t a surprise that is!). Having their input on what best suits their interests will leave them feeling happy and comfortable.

Hey, why not get them involved with the decorating too? It’s a fun way to bond with your child, and bar any impromptu paint fights, will speed up productivity.

It is also important to keep the room multifunctional. Designing different areas for work, play, rest and a space to display achievements will breathe life and diversity into the room.

It’s the extras that help characterize a room too, and quite often these little gems are what your child will gain most fun from. A bulletin board allows your child to doodle and show off their stuff, whilst novelty cushions such as football or heart designed ones are a great hit with kids. Assign space for collectables too, such as medals, figurines, or collectable bears.

Remember children are messy species! Make storage space a priority within the room when you decorate childs bedroom, as reducing clutter will be a tough task. Shelving, wicker baskets and closets are some options to decide on what fits best with the theme of the room.

Have fun decorating with your child, and remember that if you child’s choice in themes seems a little strange, there is probably a way to reach a compromise.
