When one goes to purchase mattresses for their beds, there are many different options from which they can make their selection.

Different kinds of mattresses offer different benefits than others. Of all the types of mattresses on the market today, memory foam mattresses afford sleepers far more benefits than traditional types of mattresses.

Memory foam mattresses last much longer than traditional types of mattresses, such as coil spring models. They actually last twice as long which makes them a good value for their cost.

When one purchases a memory foam mattress, they do not have to perform maintenance on the mattress. For example, flipping coil spring mattresses must occur regularly. This is done to prevent the coil spring mattress from sagging. However, with a memory foam mattress this does not need to be done. Due to their design, memory foam mattresses cannot sag.

Memory foam has unique qualities that afford benefits when used as a mattress. On traditional coil spring mattresses, when one partner stirs or gets out of bed, the other partner can often feel this and is awakened. However, with memory foam this is not an issue. Movement while sleeping or getting out of bed cannot be discerned by one’s partner.

For those suffering from chronic pain, memory foam mattresses can provide a restful night’s sleep. Memory foam is designed to respond to heat. When it becomes warmer, it softens. Areas of pain are warm. The memory foam mattress can soften to prevent pressure points forming on already painful places.

This is different than a coil spring mattress which pushes back on these pressure points making it quite difficult for those suffering from pain to get a good night of sleep.

Memory foam mattresses are also better than coil spring mattresses for their hypoallergenic properties. Made from synthetic material, memory foam mattresses do not harbor bothersome dust mites.
