Going Green in the Garden!

by Fred Roundstone
(Angmering, West Sussex, UK)

Going green is the talk on everyone’s lips. This is not a bad thing by any means. There are many individuals as well as businesses that have started finding different ways to go green. Many businesses have started going more electronic with many things.

This saves paper which in the end saves trees and keeps the oxygen in the air. Bags that are reusable are all the rage now. This is great because we do not have to worry about all the bags ending up in the landfills and going into Mother Earth.

There are many ways to go green in every aspect of your life. One of the most wasted resources that we have is water. If we did not have water we could not survive. Many people have started gardens to go green.

This is great but we need to save the water as much as possible. There are many ways that you can do this very easily. Rain is a great source of water and can be harvested to water the garden so that you are saving the water resources of the world.

One thing to keep in mind with plants and gardens is to keep them close so that you are not wasting water all over the place. Plants being together will also save you time and energy.

You can water one area and disburse the water throughout that area. There are many more tricks that you can use to save water. Mulching your garden will help to stop the water from evaporating.

When you see bugs in the garden you don’t have to spray them with some poisonous chemical. Instead, try a home-made spray that uses harmless products. Or grow things that will attract their natural enemies.

There are many things that you can incorporate into your daily life that can help the planet. So when you find environmentally friendly methods that work for you, use them. Some are easier than others to use. It all depends on how much you want your life to be green.

There are many online sites that can give you some valuable options that you and your family can use. Make sure that you are informed before starting.

It is strange how going green can save the environment as well as your life and financial situations. Saving the world does not mean that you cannot save money in the process. Just try and see what works best for you and your family and that is all that matters.
