An Entertainment Room

create the perfect chill out room for the whole family!

There is usually one room in the house that everyone sits to play games or goes to work on a hobby.....typically known as either the games room or the entertainment room.

The entertainment room may contain a large screen television, Wii system, Game Cube, or a Nintendo system with many games. There may also be a place to listen to music or to watch movies.

Why not combine all of these activities and place them into one room in your house that is not being used. If you have a family, it is a great idea to have an entertainment room.

There are so many different ways to decorate an entertainment room to benefit everyone of every age in your house.

Select one room in your home that no one uses or is used very little. This can be your entertainment room. You want to decorate it to fit the part.

This room doesn’t have to be light and bright in color. Paint the room a relaxing color that is calming but not too dull and boring otherwise it may interfere with how you pursue your hobby.

Place posters on the walls if you have any. These posters can advertise your favorite family movie or game. Place them diagonal on the walls to give your wall style. This also gives the room the feeling of being in a theater.

Next, you want to decide on the furniture for your entertainment room. You may want to purchase a futon sofa to sit on and a few beanbag chairs.

You will also want to place soft cotton rugs on the floor for those who want to sit down in the floor. You can buy solid color rugs to coordinate with the rest of your decor.

Place area rugs under a table, in front of the television, or in front of each chair in the room. These rugs add color and style to your entertainment room.

You will need an entertainment center that you can place centered at the wall. This entertainment center needs to have a place to store DVD’s and CD’s.

It also needs to be large enough to place the game consoles and remotes in them to get them out of the way when no one is playing them.

You also want to keep a special corner for hobbies like sewing, quilting, or puzzles. You can also use this corner for reading or doing homework when the room is not occupied by a gamer.

To create a hobby corner, you will need a medium sized to large size round table or a small rectangle table with leafs that can be placed up when you need them or down when you don’t.

You will need two chairs or more if you play a lot of card games. Place a light around the chair. You can place studio lighting above the table or you can place a light that hangs above the chair.

Lamps can be placed around the entire room in order to control the lighting according to what you need......there, you have the perfect room for the whole family to gather together & chill!.
