1. Where do you stand on actual tool brands?

  2. Byron, that’s a great question. Budgets aside, Craftsman has always put out
    good quality products across the board. For power tools, Makita and Skil
    are likely at the top of my list (again–budgets aside!). For your smaller,
    everyday tools (hammer, pliars, etc.), I really couldn’t justify making a
    distinction between brands that you would find at Home Depot or Lowes. And,
    you’ll probably notice that I use a Ryobi drill set from time to time. It
    was a gift, but has held up very nicely.
