Why Did I Ever Listen!

by Nick

Grass sods............just ready for laying!.

Grass sods............just ready for laying!.

I had a neighbor tell me to leave gaps in between when laying sod .He said over time the roots will develop in the gaps. I didn't have much knowledge in laying lawns so i took his advice.

Boy, was it a bad one. I have a gap that's still there. The lesson learned...not to listen to your neighbors and just do the research on your own.

Later, I found out from my wife that his lawn wasn't fully developed. I don't understand how he was given me advice. I guess it was my fault for naively trusting someone!.

Anyway, my tip is to get a tight and close fitting between the sod. Also, when laying "Bermuda" grass sods, make sure the blades faces the same direction as the rest of them.

You will notice the dark blades and the lighter blades. The best time to determine this is just before dusk when the sun hits the grass at an angle.
